Ses Figueretes can be easily reached form the centre of the island's capital, Ibiza
Town, via the Avenida de España. There are buses which service the beach, but it's
location means it's a comfortable walk from anywhere within the town.
Ses Figueretes is made up of a series of small beaches, separated by rocks and jetties.
It gets very crowded in the summer months, so you might want to get your towels
down there early. Though the whole of Ses Figueretes is a family-friendly place,
the area does attract a gay following also.
South-facing, and therefore sheltered from the winds, Ses Figueretes is ideal for
swimming and sunbathing. The waters are typically clear and warm although it's a
bit of a toss-up as to whether you get sand or pebbles beneath your feet, as this
varies along the various sections of the beach.
There is a promenade at the rear of the beach, which is lined with palm trees. Behind
this, there is a market area offering all kinds of trinkets. Jewellery, clothing
and all sorts of hand-made goodies. There are also caricature artists and, come
the evening, street entertainers of all fashion from fire-breathers and jugglers
to buskers and duettists, many actually worth a listen.
During both daytime and night this beach is well serviced by numerous cafes, bars
and restaurants, and all the usual facilities you would expect.
If you're driving to Ses Figueretes, there is a car park at the end of Ramon Muntaner,
which is the road that runs parallel to the promenade. If you're coming from further
afield, Ibiza, or Eivissa, Town is signposted from just about everywhere on the
island, and when you reach the outskirts of town you should find plenty of markers
to bring you in. If in any doubt, follow the 'centro' signs and work you way along
to the right. Overshoot and you'll end up in Playa den Bossa.
In Ses Figueretes itself there are an enormous number of hotels and apartments in
which to stay. The area is quite literally swamped with restaurants, so for those
of you craving variety, you'll never need to eat in the same on twice.
The variety of restaurants reflects the multicultural face of Ibiza itself. Aside
from the traditional Ibicenc dishes, you will be able to find Thai, Chinese, Italian,
Indian and more.
For the avid shopper, there is a multitude to choose from. Clothing, ranging from
designer labels to hand-made Ibicenc craftsmanship, are all within easy reach. Accessories,
gifts and mementoes of the island abound amongst innumerable shops and stalls.
There are also bars and cafes aplenty, all of which seem to have 'flexible' opening
hours, so the one thing you'll never be short of in Ses Figueretes is time.
Ses Figueretes is also well situated for those of you who come for the nightlife.
Space, Pacha, DC-10 and many others are all within easy reach or reasonably-fared
taxiing distance. There are also organised night buses to other venues such as Privilege.
All in all, Ses Figueretes has just about everything a complete holiday needs. Book
an apartment or a hotel online with us now. When Ibiza kicks it up a gear next summer,
you won't want to be left behind.
